Words cannot express how grateful we are for not only this IMLS funding, but also the mentorship from KCPL and our cohort to support this project! Because of this support, we have been able to build a foundation of resources and materials to support ongoing digital literacy in our community. The focus of our grant support is to help us assess our community needs, access educational material from a variety of sources, personalize that material to fit our community, create a positive and successful learning environment (with the help of our wonderful volunteers, the LV Techies), and report measurements. This helps us build a foundation so that this project can breathe and grow beyond the grant period. Without the never-ending support of the IMLS and our mentors and cohort, we could not put together such a fabulous foundation. We would also like to express gratitude to our first round of “guinea pigs” for completing our first ever Computer Basics: 101 course! Your participation and feedback was invaluable!
Because of the interest and success of our Computer Basics: 101 course, we have now scheduled some of the subjects again! Information on these classes have been posted on our Facebook page as well as our website. As always, you must RSVP, so please do so ASAP! Our wonderful LV Techie Kate Kramer has agreed to teach these courses! A major priority right now is a call for volunteers to assist Kate, so please call us at 719-742-3572 to sign-up ASAP! These programs would not be possible without community volunteers, so come join our team and help us make a digital difference!
If you are a self-learner that would like to access educational material on your own time, please contact email@example.com!
Thank you for supporting this library project and continuing to grow digital literacy in our beautiful corner of Colorado!
