Dyslexia: Diagnosis in Privilege? Presented by Rachel Arnold, CALT, C-SLDS at La Veta Library
The La Veta Library will be hosting Rachel Arnold, CALT, C-SLDS who is the Literacy Coordinator Dyslexia Specialist at President Elect at the International Dyslexia Association – Rocky Mountain Branch. What is dyslexia and what does current research reveal about neurotypical literacy development? This question and more will be answered as we dive into current issues that impact dyslexia awareness, instruction, and intervention. Learn how the bridge to equity is literacy, yet access to assessment and intervention services however is not equal among communities. With appropriate awareness and outreach these challenges can be met at the local level until every child is able to receive scientifically researched literacy instruction and intervention.
