Our Winter hours are Tuesday – Saturday 11:00AM – 2:00PM. Beginning April 1st we will be open Tuesday – Saturday 10:00AM-4:00PM. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the La Veta Library which are used to fund programs and expenses of the library. The Friends of the La Veta Library recently purchased the new chairs in the upstairs meeting room.

The La Veta Library will once again be presenting our popular Spring event, “2 Peaks – 1 Book” a Community Book Read. This year we have chosen “A Man Called Ove” as our selection. This debut novel by Stockholm native Fredrick Bachman introduces us to Ove… a thoroughly grumpy older man who has staunch principals, a quick temper and who is contemplating to putting an end to it all, when circumstances and life gets in the way. We travel on back to what got him to this place through flashbacks and reflections on love and loss. The writing is charming and often funny, the characters are original and Ove is bittersweet and unforgettable. It will make you laugh and cry.
