Civil War Connections Presented by Sandy White

The Huerfano Historical Society and La Veta Public Library proudly present a Sunday Salon: Civil War Connections.
Sandy White, a West Pointer and long-time student of Civil War. This will be a whirlwind review of the connections between Fort Garland, the Civil War in the West, and Huerfano County. We will include such diverse characters as one of the County’s first county commissioners, an incorporator of Walsenberg, and the man behind Francisco Fort-not to mention the site of the Espinosa gangs’ beheadings.
