Beginning Mosaic Making at the La Veta School of the Arts
Mosaic Art is thought to have originated in Mesopotamia at least 4,000 years ago. It has since become an art form of personal expression. In this workshop you will learn the basic tools used to create contemporary mosaics. You will learn to use the basic tools, how to break tile, the difference in tile quality, how to compose a good design, use grout to create beautiful stepping stones, indoor wall pieces, tables, outdoor walkways or wall murals. The cost is $150 with a lab fee of $12 which will pay for all of your supplies. Janeen Marie has been creating and teaching mosaic-making since the 1970s.
