News Brief: Honoring our Own

The collaborative project between Huajatolla Heritage Foundation and the Huerfano County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the two April honorees in our yearlong project of honoring the often-unrecognized citizens that have made a difference in our communities. Our elder to be honored will be Juanita Maes of Red Wing (who is celebrating her 100th birthday on April 20th) and our “younger” will be Antonia Martinez of Walsenburg. They will be recognized at the County Commissioners’ meeting on April 25th at 10:00AM at the Huerfano County Courthouse. Please offer these special ladies your congratulations!
