You won’t want to miss La Veta resident and friend, David Steffan, as he presents LVPL’s last segment of Two Peaks/One Book for 2024 at 2:00 pm on March 21 in the upstairs meeting room. David first met our chosen author, Shelly Read, as his Professor at Western State College. He went on to CU-Denver’s History Masters Program and served two tours of duty in the Army Corps of Engineers in Iraq. He worked as La Veta Fire Protection District’s Crew Boss, fought the Spring Fire and he is now the Burn Scar Recovery Manager. He will discuss hydrology and ecology issues, how we are recovering from the fire and how that relates to our theme of Resilience. Free with tasty refreshments.
