Virginia Sanchez at the Walsenburg Community Center with Huajatolla Heritage Foundation

“The other 4-H: Huerfano Honors Hispano Heritage” hosted by Huajatolla Heritage Foundation is pleased to have Ms. Sanchez, noted historian and author, at the Walsenburg Community Center at 11AM on Saturday, September 3rd to again share her in depth research and understanding of early Hispano history in Huerfano County. Norberto Valdez, PhD, retired Ethnic Studies professors will also present “Mi Querencia: The Importance of Regional Identity and History”. From 3-5pm, Michael Rael, from Questa New Mexico will entertain with traditional music of the Southwest for listening and dancing. That will be at the Miners Plaza at 6th at Main in Walsenburg. The day will culminate from 5-7pm with the Museum of Friends, 600 S. Main in Walsenburg inviting the community to an opening of the inaugural event of photos of Early Families of Huerfano County. All events are free, and everyone is invited.
