Wildflowers, Herbs, Edible, Medicinal, and Useful Wild Plants of the Spanish Peaks, Part 1, La Veta Area

Local naturalist and environmental interpreter, Bob Kennemer, will teach attendees all about edible, medicinal, dangerous, and useful wild plants found in the Spanish Peaks region. Native people, the early Spanish and European settlers all relied on wild plants as part of their day to day survival. This area is home to some of the most widely used edible and medicinal plants but also to some of the most deadly poisonous plants. Learn the dos and don’ts of harvesting wild plants along with a strong emphasis on safety and the environmental ethics of foraging. You WILL learn a lot and have loads of fun! Space is limited! $20.00/person. 8:00. to 10:30 a.m. To register and for more info send email to: bobkennemer@gmail.com
