What is our goal? To raise funds to purchase an additional building.
Why do we need more space? Several adult programs have had attendance of 60+ people, which is not enjoyable in our current meeting room. Additionally, Summer Reading Program has seen 75 youth at one time, plus their families. While currently held in the courtyard, this volume of people would not fit in our meeting room if there were inclement weather.
How will this support to expand collections and improve services? We have received requests over the past several years to add a tool library, kitchen library, music library and small business center. Purchasing an additional building would give us the space to start building those offerings.
Will this capital fundraising campaign change the current library? No services or collections will be reduced as a result of this capital fundraiser. Depending on the layout of the new building, some things may be shifted to the new location. Our ultimate goal is to not disrupt the current library while filling the new space with new offerings.
The family of Bert Rosen (LVPL Librarian from 2004 to 2013, former Trustee and Volunteer) donated the cost of the tree and the leaves so that 100% of your contribution can go to the Growth Fund.
