An Invitation to Join & Support The Friends of La Veta Library
Friends of La Veta Library is the nonprofit group that works to fill the gap between state and local tax funding and what the Library needs to fully serve the community. The Book Nook, our second-hand bookstore, is an ongoing fundraising vehicle of the Friends – run completely by volunteers. The Friends’ 2026 membership drive is another important way we inject vital funding into the La Veta Library’s budget. Your generosity realized at our library and The Book Nook! In 2025 the Friends contributed $20,000 for the repainting of the library’s exterior and this year, $5,000 to the library’s budget for funding of vital projects. Additionally, we were able to provide a new roof, toilet and door chime for The Book Nook.
Donate to support The Book Nook Renovation Goals! As the interior refresh and upgrade mission continues, goals for 2026 and 2027 are to improve accessibility, replace flooring, repaint, upgrade lighting and purchase new bookshelves.
Support our library by shopping at The Book Nook! Come on in, enjoy a hot drink and snack from our coffee bar while you pick out a book, DVD, puzzle or gift. We now have Book Nook logo coasters, BN coffee mugs, BN key chains, “Blind Date With A Book” books, messenger bag purses, Book Nook gift cards, reading glasses and bookmarks.
