Introduction to Colcha Embroidery

Colcha Embroidery is a style of needlework created by women in colonial settlements in northern New Mexico as early as the 1700’s. By the 1800’s it was also utilized in southern Colorado. Colcha embroidery has a wonderful history and revival that will be explored through a series of classes. Please join Sandy Dolak for an introduction to Colcha on April 27th at 2pm in the Capps Building at Francisco Fort in La Veta or on April 29th at 2pm at the Walsenburg Library. Come learn and get some hands on experience with this historically significant art form.
